چکیده

A methodology for the design of fuzzy control laws for tracking control of mechanical systems is described. The approach uses Lyapunov’s stability theory to formulate a class of control laws that guarantee convergence of the tracking errors to within specification limits in presence of bounded parameter uncertainties and input disturbances. The proposed methodology results in control laws that possess a large number of parameters and functional relationships to be chosen by the designer. The flexibility of the approach makes it suitable for fuzzy logic implementation. Different fuzzy implementations of the proposed control methodology are described. All implementations guarantee tracking error convergence to within prespecified performance limits. Simulations using a model of a two-degree-of-freedom robot manipulator were performed to investigate fuzzy and non-fuzzy implementations of the proposed methodology. The study demonstrates better performance of the fuzzy control implementation compared to its non-fuzzy counterpart. # 2001 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. on behalf of The Franklin Institute.

Robust tracking designs for both holonomic and nonholonomic constrained mechanical systems: adaptive fuzzy approach

Adaptive fuzzy-based tracking control designs will be proposed in this paper for both holonomic mechanical systems as well as a large class of nonholonomic mechanical systems with plant uncertainties and external disturbances. A unified and systematic procedure is employed to derive the controllers for both holonomic and nonholonomic mechanical control systems, respectively. First, a fuzzy logi...

Trajectory Tracking of a Mobile Robot Using Fuzzy Logic Tuned by Genetic Algorithm (TECHNICAL NOTE)

In recent years, soft computing methods, like fuzzy logic and neural networks have been  presented and developed for the purpose of mobile robot trajectory tracking. In this paper we will present a fuzzy approach to the problem of mobile robot path tracking for the CEDRA rescue robot with a complicated kinematical model. After designing the fuzzy tracking controller, the membership functions an...

Variable Impedance Control for Rehabilitation Robot using Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic

In this study, a novel variable impedance control for a lower-limb rehabilitation robotic system using voltage control strategy is presented. The majority of existing control approaches are based on control torque strategy, which require the knowledge of robot dynamics as well as dynamic of patients. This requires the controller to overcome complex problems such as uncertainties and nonlinearit...

This paper considers the problem of adaptive output feedback tracking control for a class of nonstrict-feedback nonlinear systems with unknown time-varying delays and unknown backlash-like hysteresis. Fuzzy logic systems are used to estimate the unknown nonlinear functions. Based on the Lyapunov–Krasovskii method, the control scheme is constructed by using the backstepping and adaptive techniqu...
